Campaign

The “I’m Glad I Failed” social marketing campaign is launching in conjunction with National Suicide Prevention Week, September 7 through 13, 2008. This effort targets LGBTQ youth who contemplate suicide as a result of homophobia. The ads feature four young people with stories about how intolerance and harassment led them to attempt suicide, and how glad they are that those attempts failed because their lives have since changed for the better. The primary goals of the campaign are to educate LGBTQ youth about The Trevor Helpline as a resource they can count on; and to open the eyes of heterosexual youth to the life-shattering consequences of being intolerant of and disrespectful toward their LGBTQ peers.
